The Municipality of Mississippi Mills plans to recognize the very best in holiday decorations throughout the community! We want to see your best Clark Griswold impersonations. There could even be a reward for your efforts !
We may not have Light Up the Night this year but that doesn't mean we can't Light Up Our Town. We are excited to have partnered with Tavis and Jacob of “What’s Happening in Mississippi Mills” to offer an interactive map! The map will allow people to register their homes so that we can all use the map to drive around and enjoy the lights - think of it as your own personal Christmas night parade.
To have your decorated home (or business) considered for the contest please visit the link below and add your address to the map online by Friday, December 11, 2020.

If you have trouble entering your address call the Mississippi Mills Recreation and Culture Department at 613-256-1077 and we will add it for you! Do you have a neighbour who puts on an amazing show? Tell them about our map or add them yourself. We really want to capture all the amazing displays across our communities.
Official judging will occur between the hours of 7:00-9:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 12. Note: due to inclement weather judging will take place December 15-17. Each judging team will perform “street view” evaluations of your home (or business) for creativity, holiday spirit, and general appeal. Don’t worry if you don't have the brightest house in town - all types of décor will be considered. From nostalgic to Griswold or religious to detailed. All entries are welcome. A first, second, and third place winner will be chosen for Home Entry and Business Entry. There's a prize for Street or Court too so encourage your neighbours to participate. The public will also have the chance to vote via a link on the map. The winner of this vote will be named Community Choice 2020.
Photos of the winning homes will be shared on the Mississippi Mills Website and Facebook Page.
Residents and friends can visit the interactive map online after December 11th to plan their route around the Municipality and enjoy all the amazing local light displays.
