Committee Overview

The Recreation & Culture Committee meets on the first Thursday of each month following the Roads & Public Works Committee that starts at 6:00 p.m. It is a Committee of the Whole, consisting of all the members of Council. The 2009-2010 chairperson is Brenda Hurrle, Pakenham Ward Councillor.

The Recreation & Culture Committee deals with issues relating to municipal parks, recreational programs, arenas, municipally sponsored events such as the Pakenham Trade & Home Show, Canada Day celebrations and Light Up the Night.

Sub-Committees
There are several sub-committees that report to the Recreation & Culture Committee: Arts & Culture Advisory Committee, Beautification Committee, Volunteer Advisory Committee and the Almonte Old Town Hall Users' Group.

If you wish to address the committee or have an item added to the agenda, notification must be received in writing by 12:00 noon on the Monday prior to the meeting for regular meetings and by 12:00 noon three (3) business days prior to any special meeting.
